About
The Galenus Journal makes interactive visual essays that let readers explore complex life science for themselves.
Life-science and health information still mostly arrives as long text in an expert's language. We think the gap is rarely a lack of information. It is a lack of translation: carrying what experts know into a form a general reader can follow and experience for themselves.
How these read
Instead of reading only a conclusion, you scroll and choose: looking at how something works, comparing how the result changes with the conditions, and checking the sources and the limits. Each subject asks for a different form, so every essay gets its own visual language and its own interactions.
What we hold to
Numbers, clinical claims and mechanisms are backed only by peer-reviewed papers and primary regulatory records. Topics and conclusions are decided by the editors alone. How we choose sources, how essays are reviewed and how corrections work are set out in Methods.
The Galenus Studio
Applying these editorial and design methods to science that companies and research institutions hold is separate work, done at The Galenus Studio (in Korean). Studio projects are published apart from Journal essays, and clients have no say in what the Journal covers or concludes.
